Fife Council meets sustainability targets, protects data and generates five-figure cash rebates with IT recycling

“Because we earn rebates from recycling, we’ve generated a five-figure sum since September 2022. Together with our environmental savings, they’re figures to be proud of.

How Does It Work?

Step 1: Book a Secure Collection

You can book your e-waste collection using our online tool, through our Stone 360 app or by giving us a call. Then our solid-sided, GPS-tracked vehicles will collect your old tech and take it to our facilties for recycling.

Step 2: Data Erasure

Before we do anything else, we'll securely erase all of your data in line with UK GDPR using an industry-standard, MoD-approved tool called Blancco.

Step 3: Recycling

Your old IT equipment will be stripped, cleaned and analysed. Anything that can be reused will be; anything else that can't is recycled. Absolutely nothing goes into landfill.

Step 4: Updates

You'll get a full recycling audit, a certificate of disposal and a detailed social value report. These will help you demonstrate social responsibility and access rebates for qualifying equipment.

What Else Do I Need To Know?

Electronic waste (or e-waste) is the fastest-growing waste product on the planet. Your old tech is full of persistent organic pollutants (POPs) which cause environmental damage if not disposed of correctly.

Using an IT Asset Disposal (ITAD) company like Converge significantly reduces the environmental impact of your old assets. Every component will be either recycled or reused at our award-winning, Environment Agency-permitted facility in Staffordshire or our regional hub in Scotland.

And it's easier and cheaper for your business, too. We'll pick up your old assets and supply you with all the paperwork you need to prove that they've been disposed of in a sustainable, secure way.

As if that's not enough, we also plant a tree for every collection we make. We've planted over 20,000 so far.
