Converge is a Care Leaver Covenant Employer
We are proud to announce that we are now a Care Leaver Covenant Employer. The Covenant is a national initiative that supports young people aged 16–25 who have experienced care, helping them transition into independent adulthood through meaningful opportunities in education, employment, and training.
What this means
Being a Care Leaver Covenant Employer reflects our dedication to supporting care-experienced young people as they transition into the workplace. By signing the Covenant, we are taking meaningful steps to provide opportunities, guidance, and a supportive environment for care leavers to thrive regardless of their background.
This is more than a pledge, it is a promise to foster inclusivity, break down barriers, and help unlock potential. Together, we are building a workplace where everyone can belong and succeed and make a lasting social impact.
Why it matters:
- Social impact: we’re helping break down barriers for care-experienced young people.
- Inclusive culture: this aligns with our values and strengthens our workplace diversity.
- Talent development: we gain access to a resilient, motivated, and often overlooked talent pool.
What we’re committing to:
- Offering tailored support and employment opportunities to care leavers.
- Creating inclusive recruitment processes from job ads to onboarding processes.
- Providing mentorship, guidance, and a supportive work environment.
What’s next?
In order to design appropriate support mechanisms, we want to learn from those with first hand experience of the care system themselves. That’s why we are consulting with our own employees who may have been care leavers or those who’ve been foster carers, adoptees or adopters. They know better than anyone how employers can help them overcome disadvantage to forge secure lasting, meaningful careers.
