Overview
The enhanced Cisco Catalyst 6500 Series 16-port GBIC-based Gigabit Ethernet module provides a cost-effective and flexible approach to deploying Gigabit Ethernet in the backbone of the network as well as in server-farms. Supporting the GBIC form factor that can be used with Fiber or copper installations, this module also offers higher-density coarse wavelength division multiplexing (CWDM) and ZX-based GBIC deployments when used in the Cisco Catalyst 6500 Series Switch or the Cisco 7600 Series Router.
