Equipped with dual-purpose interfaces and redundant power supplies, the Gigabit switch can also be positioned for in-building aggregation. The Cisco ME 3400G-2CS Switch is positioned as the intelligent Ethernet demarcation device at the customer premises. With support of Ethernet operations, administration, maintenance, and provisioning features, the Cisco ME 3400G-2CS greatly reduces service providers' operating expenses (OpEx) by supporting remote monitoring and troubleshooting. Designed to replace the "Smartjack" in TDM networks, the Cisco ME 3400G-2CS also offers advanced functionalities such as flex-links for link redundancy, quality of service (QoS) for differentiated services, and Layer 3 routing for advance IP services to support highly available premium services.
