Windows 10 End of Life

Windows 10 end of life is scheduled for 14th October 2025 – and if you stay on Windows 10, you could face security risks, operational issues, higher costs and poorer performance.

We can help you refresh to Windows 11 quickly, easily and securely, so you can enjoy the upgrade without disruption.

Time is Running Out

End of support for Windows 10 is scheduled for October 14th 2025. Windows 10 devices that use version 22H2 will no longer receive free software updates, technical assistance or security fixes.

This means you’ll be more liable to cyber-attacks, and outdated IT can also lead to operational issues, reputational damage, or fines. And as Windows 10 becomes outdated, devices will become slower – harming productivity.

What are my options?

If your devices will be affected by Windows 10 end of life dates, then the best option is migration to Windows 11 before the end of support for Windows 10.

Upgrading existing devices can be cost-effective, and Windows 11 has a 99.7% compatibility rate with apps that work on Windows 10. But consider the lifespan of your hardware – if it’s not going to last, consider new Windows 11 devices.

If you’re using Windows 11 21H2 (LTS), active support ends 12th January 2027 with long-term support ending 13th January 2023. If you’re using Windows 10 21H2 (Enterprise, LTS), active and security support ends on 12th January 2007.

What about the Windows 10 Extended Support Update?

Some organisations may need to use legacy devices beyond the Windows 10 end of life date.

Microsoft offers Windows 10 Extended Support Updates (ESUs) – a paid option to provide customers with critical and important security updates while they migrate to newer, supported platforms. ESUs don’t include technical support, non-security updates or design changes.

A one-year ESU costs $61 USD per device in the first year, $122 in the second year and $244 in the third. Windows 10 ESUs will be available for volume licensing starting in late 2024.

Microsoft Education customers can buy ESUs for $1 per license for the first year, $2 per device in year two and $4 per device in year three.

Windows 10 devices accessing Windows 11 Cloud PCs through Windows 365 will automatically receive security updates.
