Our People Focus, in Practice
Converge is a people company that provides IT solutions with people-focused values embedded in everything we do. We have an opportunity to serve our customers, our employees, and our communities in a way that’s mutually beneficial and that requires an active plan.
Discover some of the practical ways we’re putting our people-focused values into practice across all the ways we operate, both within the business and in the wider community.

It all starts with one word – equity. Technology is about opening doors, and that means having an ethos where people can connect and communicate, especially those who are disadvantaged in their ability to access careers in the IT sector, or to access technology itself.
Discover the ways that our MADD Digital Horizon Framework makes Converge open, accessible, and equitable for all.
Technology is for everyone
Recognising the diversity of us all as individuals means we can’t offer a one-size-fits all approach to careers at Converge.
The roles we offer need to be flexible and accessible. That means listening to our teams and especially groups who, for many different reasons, face additional barriers. Here are some examples of our work:
- Becoming a Disability Confident Employer to ensure that accessing our sites and technologies is made as easy as possible.
- Working with our partner Thriiver to raise awareness of neurodiversity and disability in the workplace and wider community, including how to make technology more accessible.
- We’re members of the Care Leaver Covenant, supporting care leavers into employment and work experience opportunities.
- Becoming a Fostering Friendly employer and providing family-friendly policies to support foster carers and those who’ve experienced foster care themselves.

Opening doors with training and skills
We’re investing in the present and opening the door to future careers in tech by:
- Running hands-on site visits for children from primary school up to T-level students to get an insight into working in our industry.
- Running apprenticeship schemes, with over 1000 weeks completed to date, generating over £600k worth of social value.
- Providing a range of training and e-learning opportunities covering everything from employee mental health awareness to data security.
- Delivering leadership training for existing and future leaders.
Company Culture: Putting the feel-good factor into work
We’re also a fun and inclusive place to work, and a walk around our offices and warehouse suggests we’re putting the friendly factor into work with:
- On-site pool tables, treadmills, and gaming computers for when a little play helps to pass the day.
- 3 days of volunteering opportunities for our employees each year, giving everyone the chance to make a difference to our communities and environment. That’s over 2,300 hours so far.
- Mental health ambassadors throughout the business, there to look out for those experiencing challenges and to point them towards support.
- Listening to our employees, for example, our monthly ‘Talk to Tim’ sessions with our MD, where honest feedback goes straight to the top!

Converge in the community
As an employer, we have the privilege of taking care of our teams at work and, where possible, supporting them and their families outside work also. We work hard for our people and encourage their growth and development at every opportunity:
- We provide free access to valuable support outside of work, including 24/7 remote GP appointments, financial and health advice, and much more.
- Both family-friendly, flexitime, and extensive remote working options help to ensure a healthy work-life balance.
- We’re a Living Wage employer, ensuring everyone is paid a fair rate.
- We engage employees with charitable giving. They choose a local and national charity to support, with many of us participating in sponsored fundraising throughout the year.
