Delivering Sustainable IT Solutions
It starts with positivity. A belief that we can make a difference in the face of the huge environmental challenges humanity faces. Innovation is in the DNA of the IT sector, and that must include finding creative ways to tread more lightly on our planet.
Converge has taken exceptional strides forward to becoming a true leader in sustainable IT, and we’ve been recognised for it. Discover our journey so far.

Treading lightly, progressing purposefully
Cutting out waste and maximising resource efficiency is our aim. There has been a huge increase in the amount of e-waste produced, with devastating consequences. At Converge, thanks to clear vision and substantial investment, we have a true circular economy providing IT Solution.
To create a circular economy, we’ve taken it in-house in the form of an industry-leading, zero-avoidable-waste-to-landfill accredited IT recycling facility, and an IT refurbishment facility which has been rated the best globally.
We also work collaboratively with our suppliers and many customers to help them reduce their environmental footprint, without compromising on product or service quality. Being sustainable is a team effort.

Industry-leading IT recycling
Converge is a UK leader in IT recycling at our in-house site, from where we:
- Issue generous rebates to customers who recycle with us, amounting to over £5.5m since 2021.
- Implement industry-leading data security and erasure, which is externally accredited.
- Ensure nothing goes to waste with Valpak zero-avoidable-waste-to-landfill accreditation.
- Provide free social value reporting, demonstrating the benefits of recycling with us.
- Collect a minimum of 25 qualifying devices in securely tracked Converge vehicles - free of charge.
Smart infrastructure
We’re helping our customers to reduce their energy usage to reduce both their emissions and costs. Smart sensors and other technologies can monitor and automatically improve energy efficiency. These technologies are:
- Sustainable and efficient – we can help reduce energy use, emissions, and waste through intelligent automation and monitoring.
- Data driven – analysing data to optimise energy usage, predict maintenance needs and reduce downtime.
- Connected and responsive – these always-on systems reduce the need for human monitoring, saving time and money.
- User-centric - Improves quality of life by making infrastructure safer, more accessible, and more reliable.

Commitment to net zero
Our commitment to reducing our carbon emissions is unwavering, with a plan to reach net zero on scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030 and scope 3 by 2045. We have already:
- Switched to 100% renewable energy at our Bathgate site, using biomass fuel in the form of wood pellets.
- Installed the first phase of solar panels at our HQ with all of our energy coming from renewable sources.
- Reduced fuel usage in plant machinery by 47% by, for example, switching to electric forklift trucks.
- Achieved a 13% energy reduction in our transport operations with our company car fleet now being 100% full-electric or hybrid.
Global #1 for refurbished IT
So many unwanted IT devices are left in storage or sent to landfill when they could instead be refurbished for future use. This is why Converge’s Stone Refurb, awarded global number #1 for refurbished IT in 2025, is on a mission to change that.
The benefits of IT refurbishment are many. Not only can refurbished devices help to reduce IT spend, but they also offer clear environmental benefits with reductions in CO2 emissions of 90% plus compared with buying new. We only recycle devices when they can’t be refurbished. We care about your IT kit and in line with waste hierarchy principles if we can refurbish it, we will!
